Story Collector

Representing the launch of the 2016 season, the Story Collector was perched up on Signal Hill. Students from Memorial University worked with MUNFLA (MUN’s Folklore and Language Archive) and local podcast studio, Sounds like an Earful, to record audio which is now stored within the archives. Passersby were asked to describe memories of their home, other building’s that have had an impact on their lives to prime them for the question, “What does architecture mean to you.”  A teaser was aired on CBC’s On the Go, but we intend to make a mini-series podcast.  Check out this video of us putting on the pavilion’s cladding for the first time.

What would you use it for?

Tell us where it would go. Be as specific as you can, like Prescott street at Gower street, in Victoria Park, or in Rabbitwn. Tell us specifically what it would be used for something like "outdoor movies" or "afternoon plays" or "acoustic music" instead of just performance.

We'll do our best make the most popular things happen. Your email address will not be published with your ideas.
